How To Create The Optimal “Fridge Cig”
As someone who dabbles in the art of a “Fridge Cig” it is only fitting that I explain how it’s done. If you are unaware of what this is, trust me, I will enlighten you. Let me set the scene: you are in bed, you just took an everything shower and are in a fresh PJ set, about to watch your comfort movie, but something is missing. Queue “Fridge Cig”. You will grab a crisp cold diet coke of your choice ( mine is Diet Coke Cherry) then you will get an individually sealed True Lime packet and pour HALF of it into the can. If you like a more sour drink then by all means pour the full thing. Then you will slowly stir the mixture together, et volia you now have the most perfect “Fridge Cig” for your nighttime winddown. I am aware that Diet Coke has caffeine; if you know it will affect your sleep, you can easily switch it out for a decaffeinated Diet Coke.
Lets Get Skinny
Welcome to “The Skinny” section of the blog! Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s talk pop culture, fashion, and lifestyle. This week, we are going to talk about the candidates to be the new James Bond. Currently, your choices are Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, Josh O’Connor, and an undisclosed mystery actor (queue the woo’s), but who really would be the best James Bond? I might be biased on this topic, seeing as though Callum Turner is my celebrity crush I obviously am rooting for him, but are the other actors a better choice? Let’s discuss Jack Lowden. Out of everyone else, he is the outlier; with films that were not hits at the box office, he is, in a sense, “new” to the magnitude the James Bond dynasty carries. He will be playing Mr. Darcy in Netflix’s new six-part adaptation of Pride and Prejudice ( my favorite movie), so the winds might turn in his favor; we shall find out soon enough. The next candidate is Josh O’Connor; he was brought into my circle of cute men with accents after he starred in the smash hit movie “Challenger” with Zendaya and Mike Faist. He seems like a great candidate, but in my eyes he doesn’t have the “edge” that James Bond is known for. Don’t get me wrong, he is an amazing actor, but is he Mr. Bond material? Not much is known about who the mystery actor could be; the rumor mill isn’t running either, so I don’t have much to say about it other than and this might be a hot take- I don’t want it to be Jacob Elordi. With that being said, it brings me to the last but certainly not least James Bond candidate. The one and only Callum Turner. He has the looks, he has the style, he has the accent; I mean, what else can I say? He is used to playing in movies where circumstances are not ideal and is always being put to the test but prevails against all odds; no one wants to see a James Bond who doesn’t succeed, but enough with my opinions; who do you think should be the next James Bond?
A French Fall
One of the best seasons of the year is upon us, but you want to stay chic? Well then, I have the inspiration for you. My credit comes right from the source itself. In my time living in France, I was able to learn the do’s and don’ts of Parisian fall fashion. Do’s: keep it simple but chic; French girls love a good statement piece, but they know when to use it. You won’t see a woman walking down the street in a sweater and jeans with a neon yellow scarf for a casual outing. When you are out and about, a monotone colored sweater with a good dark-colored pair of jeans and a long coat will do just the trick. Make the outfit your own by adding a pair of red ballet flats and a Miu Miu Adventure Nappa leather bag. Bonus points if you are on your way to get a cappuccino and have a cheeky cigarette. DON’T throw on a pair of sweats with a messy bun to do your morning coffee run (please I am speaking from experience here, the judgmental look from a Paris native is never welcoming) Parisians believe in the art of taking your time and savoring the little moments, like that morning cafe pitstop. Now let’s talk when the sun goes down. DON’T wear light washed denim, DO go for a sexier darker option and if denim isn’t the vibe you can never go wrong with a skirt no matter what the length. Just know if you’re wanting to go for a more sophisticated look, your best friend will be a midi or maxi skirt, might I add opting into a fitted sheer lace top, but you can also never go wrong with silk or satin. You want to blend with the night not disturb it. Remember Paris is a fashion capitol and France takes pride in their high end, suave lifestyle it is in your best interest to look the part. Leave your fast fashion pieces at home and sink your teeth into this beautiful, rich culture.
